Your First Step

There are a couple of things you should get out of the way before applying for a visa;

a. While it’s not necessary to memorize your passport’s expiration date, generally speaking, you want your passport to be valid for at least six months before applying for a visa. If its expiration date is approaching, you’ll need to renew your passport before your next overseas trip. 

b. It’s important to note that applying for a visa can be costly and time-consuming, it’s best to get it sorted as soon as possible.

c. There are 44 countries and territories that are visa-free or visa on arrival access for Nigerian passport holders.

Your Second Step

There are documents that are required from you before you can apply for a Visitor’s or Tourist Visa. The Visitor’s visa is issued for a short stay in the UK. The purpose for this visa is to visit friends and loved ones, holiday or vacation, study, business, training, attend conference and transit visa – this is gotten when you are passing through the United Kingdom.

The United States offers a two-year, multiple entry Business and Tourism Visas: B1/B2 for adult applicants. Most applicants applying for nonimmigrant visas are visitors for business (B1) or tourism (B2). The two categories of visas are usually issued together as a B1/B2 visa. 

While Schengen visa is the document issued by the appropriate authorities to the interested party for visiting/travelling in and within the Schengen Area. The Schengen Area is comprised of 26 countries that have agreed to allow free movement of their citizens within this area as a single country. If the applicant is planning to visit two or more Schengen countries, it is highly recommended to be applying for the visa in the embassy/consulate of the country you will be residing in for most of the traveling days, referred to as the main destination.
